Hooks for Ladders is a two-piece acoustic group started in 2007 by Nick Ellis and Christopher Taylor.  It was originally started as a side project for the duo to give them an outlet for softer music, having both played in hard rock bands for many years.  They started writing originals and realized they wanted to add cover tunes to their shows.  Working hard, Nick and Chris added enough songs to start playing out in bars and coffee shops.  They wanted to be a tight band that musicians and listeners could respect and enjoy. Chris and Nick continue to work hard to make music for everyone to enjoy.  They mixed their hard rock backgrounds and their need to gorgeous melodies to make their unique sound.  Always staying true to their ideals in music, they felt a freedom to express themselves in their music any way they wanted.
