Tampa, FL's Select Start (http://www.myspace.com/selectstart) rocks a blend of synth-infused, power-pop, indie rock which has garnered attention for their live show throughout Florida and the eastern half of the US and Southern California.
Taking their name from the two buttons on a Nintendo controller, founded as a trio, Joe(vocals/guitar), Adam(bass) and Patrick(drummer), later completed their lineup, adding Matt (Moog synth/vocals) and Jason(lead guitar).
In 2005, music from "Black Hair That's to Dye For", was licensed for a Rhino Linings national TV commercial, when a nationally renowned agency found their song on PureVolume. That licensing paid for their trailer.

In 2008 Select Start stepped up touring and exploded into 2009 with the self-release of their EP, "<3".
When asked in an interview about the time the band spends on MySpace, Joe said: "Too much. We don't believe in fans... we believe in friends. So we answer every message and comment. It really hard to keep up with. It used to be just Adam and I running the myspace, now all five us us do it. But every minute spent is worth it. We love keeping in touch with everyone."
Select Start keeps in touch with their friends on Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, Purevolume, Broadtexter, Stickam and SyncLive, promoting their show dates using PickRSet, Eventful and Zvents, using a Verizon Wireless broadband card while on tour in their van.
